Payment methods and payouts

Supported payment methods

Kotao processes payments through an integrated payment provider. The following methods are supported:

Cards

• Visa, Mastercard, American Express
• Contactless (NFC), chip and PIN
• Apple Pay, Google Pay

In person

• Cash payments with change calculation

Online

• SEPA direct debit
• Klarna, giropay
• Bank transfers

Available methods depend on your region and plan.

Set up a merchant account

Before you can accept card payments, you need to set up a merchant account:

1. Go to Payments > Settings > Merchant account
2. Enter your business details (name, address, tax ID)
3. Add your bank account for payouts
4. Upload the required verification documents
5. Review typically takes 1 to 2 business days

Payouts

Once your account is verified, your earnings are transferred to your bank account on a regular schedule.

• By default, payouts are processed every 7 days
• You can check the status of upcoming and past payouts under Payments > Payouts
• Expand a payout to see which transactions it includes

Fees

Transaction fees depend on your plan and the payment method used. You can find a breakdown under Payments > Settings > Fees or on payments.kotao.com.
